Who’s Behind This Site
I’m Mike. I played first base in adult rec leagues for years and ran a slowpitch softball team long enough to know exactly what a manager goes through come equipment season — fielding emails about bat rules, figuring out why half the team showed up with illegal gear, pricing out catcher sets on a budget nobody agreed on.
I built Baseball Equipped because the advice I kept finding online was written for parents shopping for 12-year-olds or die-hard competitive players. The adult rec market — the guys playing Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings who just want solid gear that works and won’t blow up their wallet — was mostly ignored.

Every recommendation on this site comes from actual playing experience, research into what rec leagues require, and current availability from retailers I trust. I don’t recommend gear I wouldn’t use or buy myself. I also keep an eye on what’s actually in stock — there’s nothing worse than finding the perfect bat review only to discover it was discontinued two seasons ago.
